25 years in the radical middle
In the midst of the “timber wars,” the Pacific Forest Trust set out to occupy a space no one was in: the radical middle.
Between the liquidation of old growth forests, the globalization of the timber industry and the loss of forestlands to an ever growing development pressure, the emotions and conflicts about forests ran high, often too high for solutions to emerge. We identified the need for new approaches, tools and incentives to help landowners to keep their forests as forests for their many private and public benefits: clean water, homes for wildlife, and a healthy climate.
By making a generous contribution to PFT, you can help ensure forests and other working lands provide benefits to wood, water, wildlife and well-being for future generations.
