Conservation

The Pacific Forest Trust works in partnership with landowners, private investors, government agencies and communities to secure the lasting conservation of private, productive forestlands.

Pacific Forest Trust PFT worked with the landowner, the public, other land trusts and the government to establish a conservation easement on nearly 4,000 acres adjacent to Sinkyone Wilderness State Park, in Mendocino County on the Northern California coast.

PFT is a member of the Land Trust Alliance,
the national convener, strategist and representative of more than 1,500 land trusts across America

As part of our Land Trust Services, the Pacific Forest Trust:

• Provides advice about conservation strategies appropriate to each landowner’s needs and management situation.

• Designs, acquires and stewards conservation easements that protect forests from undesired development and guide sustainable forest management.

• Acquires and manages forestlands as examples of stewardship forestry techniques, while ensuring their permanent protection.

Pacific Forest Trust Owners of private forestland need information and guidance on options for protecting their land's conservation values.
